Santander UK has joined forces with the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade to break down the barriers to trade for UK businesses.
As part of the new collaboration, members of the professional body will receive discounted access to Navigator Global, the bank's platform for international growth, enabling them to benefit from industry leading research and events, as well as a first look at Santander's Trade Barometer report. Meanwhile, Navigator Global users will gain free access to the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade's extensive catalogue of training courses, as well as a free call to assess their export capabilities.
According to the latest Santander Trade Barometer data, UK businesses are increasingly keen to expand internationally, but are too often held back by challenges such as bureaucracy and an inability to access the right support.
"Our research shows that businesses are calling out for more support from government and the private sector, and we're pleased to be working with the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade to play our part in helping businesses turn their international dreams into a reality," says John Carroll, head of International and Transactional Banking at Santander UK.
"Through our digital international trade platform, Navigator Global, we’ve already helped over 1,500 grow internationally," he adds. "Joining forces with the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade will support even more in taking their next step."
Marco Forgione, director general at the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade, says his organisation is "on a mission to empower global trade and get more UK businesses exporting."
"The facts speak for themselves," Forgione adds. "Businesses that trade internationally are more sustainable, more resilient, employ more people, are more innovative and are more profitable. Together we are working to remove barriers and provide the skills businesses need to succeed."
