UK Export Finance (UKEF) is hosting a supplier fair for UK businesses that can provide the goods and services needed to support the execution of a major road reconstruction initiative in Togo.
The event, held in partnership with Hitech Construction Africa, will take place in London on 22 October, with virtual one-to-one meetings available on 23 October.
The Sokodé-Tchamba-Kambole Road Project involves the reconstruction of 86km of road stretching east and south from the centre of Togo towards the border with Benin. The works aim to enhance connectivity between Sokodé, the country’s second-largest city, and the Benin border, benefitting local communities by enhancing access to essential services and fostering economic growth in the region
UKEF is providing financial support for the project, with a requirement for a minimum of 20% UK content.
At the supplier fair, project owner Hitech Construction Africa says it is looking to engage and meet with UK companies who have the capability and capacity to supply packages within the construction, building materials, chemical, mechanical and industrial equipment, lighting and electricals, safety, personal protection, laboratory, quality control, infrastructure, utilities and heavy machinery sectors.
“The event will give businesses the opportunity to understand export opportunities, receive exclusive insights and discuss specific details on the procurement process for UK suppliers for the Sokodé-Benin Border Road Project,” says UKEF, adding that businesses will also hear from the export credit agency about how it can help them win contracts, fulfil orders and get paid.
UKEF’s supplier fairs aim to help increase UK content in overseas projects through high-profile networking events that place relevant UK suppliers directly in front of international buyers. Businesses interested in registering for the event can do so via this link. Hitech Construction Africa, as the project owner, is responsible for vetting businesses and approving attendance based on suitability for the opportunity.
