Misako Kitaoka , Partnerships Manager, Tokyoesque

Misako is based in London and is Partnerships Manager at Tokyoesque. She supports international companies to enter and grow in Japan. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Hiroshima, she holds degrees from Stanford and Columbia. She began her career as a Certified Public Accountant in the US, then moved into public and government relations. From 2015 to 2025, she was Director of Education (Japan) at Education New Zealand, based at the New Zealand Embassy in Tokyo, where she led education promotion and exchanges. Misako is married to the New Zealand High Commissioner to the UK and is an active member of London's diplomatic community.
